Medtronic Pelvic Health provides therapies treat patients suffering from overactive bladder, non-obstructive urinary retention and fecal incontinence with our sacral neuromodulation (SNM) systems InterStim X™️ and InterStim™️ Micro; and our percutaneous tibial neuromodulation (PTNM) system NURO™️. More than 40 million people in the US have Overactive bladder and/or fecal incontinence, and many of them limit their lives socially, professionally and personally because of their condition. Our goal is to expand access to our therapies so we can help potentially millions of people get their lives back.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to lead our team of Therapy Development Specialists. The Director will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful introduction and adoption of innovative, new therapies, ensuring that our team provides in-depth therapy development support to enable healthcare provider (HCP) teams to achieve procedural independence and confidence in the therapy. The ideal candidate will be energized by the opportunity to partner with HCPs, motivated to expand access for patients, and possess a strong background in medical device technology, product and procedure expertise, and therapy development experience.

This position is remote to enhance our competitive edge and expand our cross-functional collaboration efforts. This role will require 50% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Strategy:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive the successful introduction and adoption of new therapies in the US
  • Establish clear, measurable goals and objectives for the team, ensuring alignment with overall Operating Unit (OU) targets
  • Monitor and evaluate progress against goals, providing regular reports and insights to senior management
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to identify areas for improvement and optimize strategies for sustained growth and success
  • Identify and advocate for process improvements needed to achieve full therapy adoption within and across targeted accounts

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Recruit, hire and develop therapy development specialists
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Therapy Development Specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Set clear goals and expectations for the team, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to Therapy Development Specialists through field visits, observation, and measurement of results
  • Ensure the team is well-trained and equipped to provide exceptional therapy development guidance, technical support and education to HCPs
  • Participate in the development of Therapy Development Specialists compensation and award programs
  • Effectively budget and manage expenses for the team
  • Ensure the quality and compliance policies are understood, implemented and maintained by the team
  • Establish effective relationships and collaborate with other departments (Marketing, Finance, HR, Sales Training, etc.) to address key business issues and opportunities

Therapy Development:

  • Engage with District Managers and Regional Directors to ensure alignment on account prioritization for the Therapy Development Specialist team
  • Guide the team to develop and execute comprehensive therapy development plans to support sustained adoption across the US
  • Collaborate with District Managers, Marketing, Medical Education, and Field Therapy Development to identify current and future needs related to therapy development
  • Proactively identify changes in health care, delivery systems, reimbursements, and competitive pressures. Work with appropriate marketing, payer and clinical staff to implement tactics to address issues
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in ITNM technology and surgical techniques

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders including physicians, key opinion leaders, administrators and internal cross-functional partners
  • · Translate those relationships into meaningful enhancements to personal and team performance

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred
  • Extensive experience in medical device technology and therapy development
  • 5+ years of team management
  • Proven track record of agility, adaptability, and the ability to manage and collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Independent thinker, problem solver, collaborator
  • System, process oriented
  • Dedicated to cultivating a team culture
  • Can understand and use data to communicate within the organization
  • Poised under pressure
  • Willingness to travel extensively (50%+) to support the Therapy Development Specialist team

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):0

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.
