JOB SUMMARY:

The Tennessee Sales Representative serves as the primary point of contact for existing and potential National Gypsum customers in a complex, and competitive market.  The ideal candidate will need to reside in the Nashville/Tennessee area.  

Building new relationships while offering best-in-class service to established distributors, contractors, and architects who purchase, install, and specify NGC products and systems is essential to maintaining National Gypsum’s position as the industry leader in this territory. The territory sales representative will add value as a technical resource and through knowledge of our full line of products, with a consistent, visible market presence and responsiveness your customers rely upon.

The candidate will drive sales through their understanding of the building materials industry, willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team, and ability to manage a diverse customer base while utilizing NGC’s full complement of tools and resources.  Your capacity for communicating detailed marketplace knowledge, competitive intelligence, and business trends will play a pivotal role in balancing the company’s initiatives and broader strategies.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):

  • Promote NGC products to exceed assigned objectives for volume and price
  • Establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with direct and indirect customers, i.e. dealers, contractors, builders, architect, and thereby control the sales and placement of our products
  • Develop, implement, and adopt territory sales plans based on ongoing analysis of market conditions which assess opportunities for competitive advantage consistent with company objectives
  • Coordinate efforts and communicate effectively with sales management, demand management, marketing, and manufacturing
  • Identify and track all relevant job leads and product specification opportunities
  • Investigate, evaluate, report and remedy customer service issues pertaining to complaints, credit problems, carriers, sales tools, etc., ensuring customer satisfaction consistent with NGC objectives
  • Effectively organize, plan and manage activities both independently and in a team setting
  • Seek and maintain any necessary professional certifications and technical knowledge
  • Create a best in Industry value proposition as it relates to technical acumen, market knowledge, project knowledge and product representation
  • Manage and stay within assigned budget
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of five years successful field sales experience preferred and preferably in the building materials industry 
  • Valid driver’s license/driving record

Competitive Salary, with a general salary range of $96,336.00 to $120,420.00, or higher depending on education and experience.
