The Sales Applications Engineer is primarily responsible for developing relationships with customers, advancement of sales tools including product configurations, and the preparation of detailed technical & sales presentations for customers, technical consultations, negotiating contracts with clients, and assisting with the project execution of contracts.
A Typical Day as a Sales Application Engineer Includes:
Evaluate and process new orders
Manage multiple orders, requests and projects
Conduct thermal analysis and mechanical design
Provide interpretation and clarification on thermal and mechanical analysis
Manage projects with complex customer specifications
Ensure proposal alignment of customer specifications and company standards for cooler thermal rating practices are followed or make recommendations for improvements
Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and optimization of heat transfer solutions to internal and external customers
Evaluate heat exchanger designs and heat transfer surface concepts using known analytical and experimental methods
Prepares engineering studies, internal design specifications and cost estimates to support internal and external requests
Amasses the appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SME) to solve engineering and design problems
Manages SME with support on heat transfer engineering efforts
Partners with customers and internal functional groups on safety integration
Ensures all legal requirements are met and approved through legal counsel
Ensure commercial information, purchase orders, Incoterms, and other deliverables are attainable
Managing projects with complex customer specifications

Requirements:
What You Will Need:
Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field
5 years of industry experience
2 years of experience with thermal design, rating, and performance analysis
2 years’ experience Oil and Gas experience
Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Division 1, TEMA and API 661 Standards
Exceptional and polished customer service experience
What Will Put You Ahead:
Master’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field
8 years’ experience in industry
5 years’ experience with thermal rating
4+ years continuous improvement experience
7+ years Oil and Gas experience
Knowledge of air cooled heat exchangers
Experience with HTRI

Read, analyze and interpret technical data into everyday language
Write in a clear and concise manner
Effectively present information to customers, departments and respond to questions
Effectively facilitate meetings and execute plans
Proficient in using Excel, PowerPoint, Word and MS Project
Proven depth of knowledge operating in an ERP-based manufacturing environment
Superior analytical skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret customer and industry technical specifications, engineering drawings, BOMs, financial reports and legal documents
Ability to effectively present information to top management, customers and cross-functional leadership.
