The Maryland State Manager will lead Curio Wellness’ established Maryland medical cannabis wholesale division and will be responsible for ensuring we meet and exceed our monthly revenue growth targets and product mix distribution targets. The Manager will be responsible for collaborating with the Directors of Cultivation and Manufacturing to ensure the products available to the sales team meet the needs of our dispensary partners and Maryland’s patients. The State Manager works directly with the VP of Sales to develop sales strategies, maintain budget/sales forecasts, and oversee the execution of the sales plan. The State Manager will also manage a team of Territory Sales Managers and is responsible for coaching the sales team to maximize their potential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead and coach a team of Territory Sales Managers meet and exceed Curio Wellness’s sales goals and objectives
- Oversee all functions of the sales lifecycle including sales forecasting, direct relationship management and development, negotiation of buying agreements and lead conversion, deal evaluations and approvals
- Assess individual and team performance, provide coaching, and connect specific assignments or experiences to build capabilities
- Foster external relationships with MSOs to gain alignment and advocacy for sales development, category management programs, and marketing executions
- Develop annual and quarterly revenue plans, prepare monthly sales reports by product and channel to evaluate brand and product performance and develop annual and quarterly sales plans
- Ensure stores have proper inventory levels through sales tools, smart communication and in-store visits
- Understand and provide insights on sales drivers and recommend new opportunities to drive incremental growth
- Partner with Finance and Operations on the following activities: forecasting activities, developing revenue targets, budgeting and developing sales operations processes and compensation plans
- Monitor the market to observe emerging trends and competition
- Work with Marketing team to develop advertising strategy and promotional activities.
- Promote the mission, vision and values of the company to all team members, consistently.
- Perform administrative duties including reading and writing and answering emails, texts and calls in a timely and professional manner
- Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
- Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Curio Wellness

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (BA, BS) or four (4) years of equivalent job-related experience.
Other Qualifications:
- 7+ years of outside sales preferably in consumer-packaged goods (food & beverage, preferred)
- Minimum 2 years people management experience
- Knowledge of cannabis industry, regulations, market trends and competition highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience of exceeding sales quotas
- Proven ability to build and execute a sales strategy to generate and develop new business
- Experience of P&L and budget management
- Experience working in CRM & Data
- Strong communication skills
- Proven ability to create culture, develop people and lead
- Strong understanding of sales, marketing and customer service
- Process oriented
- Strong product knowledge awareness
- Knowledge of and passion for wellness and wellness products
