Position Summary
The primary mission of the Compounding Pharmacy Sales Rep is to represent the pharmacy in the field, establishing relationships with clinics who are identified as potential customers while also providing education and ongoing support to assigned accounts. The position is expected to identify and qualify leads with the goal of establishing them as active accounts, in addition to tracking and managing all identified leads from the field. Candidates must have good presentation skills and be able to build long-term relationships through honest, ethical behavior. Previous pharmaceutical sales experience is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop relationships with Healthcare Providers and their staff. Educate via office calls, in-service meetings, virtual meetings, public speaking, and other professional shows.
- Utilizes CRM to report on healthcare provider’s needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for utilization of company products and services.
- Establish marketing and sales strategies to meet organizational objectives.
- Secure orders for services from existing and potential customers by means of visiting the customer facilities or contacting by phone.
- Plan and carry out sales and marketing activities to agreed-upon budgets, sales volumes, product mix and timelines.
- Follows up with assigned accounts to provide any needed assistance and to resolve any service complaints.
- Provides continued education and information pertaining to compounded medications, new pharmaceutical products, back-ordered medications, and general pharmacy updates. Keeps abreast of product applications, clinical journals/publications, market conditions, and competitive activities thru pertinent literature.
- Serves as a communication liaison between assigned accounts and the pharmacy, utilizing internal resources as needed.
- Maintains updated daily communication logs on activity and call frequency in CRM to ensure overall goals are met.
- Submits weekly and monthly reports to sales managers and upper management.
- Consistently meets or exceeds minimum KPI standards and expectations.
- Ensures successful adherence to policies, procedures, and changes to the organization
Qualifications
- Four-year college degree or medical/pharmaceutical certification
- Previous health care sales experience required; compounding pharmacy sales experience preferred
- Personable, extroverted personality
- Ability to recognize and generate sales leads
- Ability to exercise independent judgment
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and adequate transportation, and car insurance
