Sleep Technician

Job Summary: As a Sleep Technician, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. You will conduct various types of sleep studies, including polysomnography, titrations, and MSLT tests, and assist in the administration and monitoring of treatment plans. Your role will also involve patient education and support, ensuring a positive experience for those undergoing sleep studies.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct Sleep Studies: Perform in-lab and home sleep studies, including PSG, CPAP/BiPAP titrations, MSLT, and MWT tests.
• Patient Setup: Set up patients for sleep studies, including applying sensors and ensuring they are comfortable.
• Monitoring: Monitor patients during the study, collecting and recording physiological data for analysis.
• Data Analysis: Score and analyze sleep studies, preparing reports for physicians and clinical teams.
• Equipment Management: Maintain and calibrate sleep study equipment, troubleshooting technical issues as needed.
• Patient Education: Educate patients about sleep studies, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and laboratory protocols.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to provide comprehensive care and support.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate degree in a relevant field, such as Respiratory Therapy, or completion of a recognized sleep technologist program.
• Certifications: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in sleep diagnostics or a related field.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in handling various polysomnography systems and sleep diagnostic equipment.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and clinical teams.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and resolve patient concerns efficiently.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time-management skills to balance multiple studies and tasks.
